Week 11: Climate Change

  1. What did you do in lab today?

    1. We talked about the water cycle.

    2. Air pressure: how much weight the air is pressing down on Earth

  2. What was the big question?

    1. What is weather?

  3. What did you learn in Thursday’s discussion?

    1. We did not have lecture this week because of the exam.

  4. Read chapter 11 of the textbook.

    1. What did you learn?

      1. Weather: what is happening now

      2. Warm front: the boundary where a warmer air mass is moving in to replace a colder air mass

      3. Cold front: the boundary where a cooler air mass is moving in to replace a warmer air mass

      4. Low-pressure systems are associated with more volatile weather conditions, such as clouds, rain, and wind

      5. In a high-pressure system, the weather is typically sunny and clear

      6. Wind is caused when Earth’s surface is heated unevenly by the sun

    2. What was the most helpful?

      1. I liked how this chapter covered things not discussed in lab. This was helpful to get a better picture and understanding relating to weather and high vs. low-pressure systems.

    3. What do you need more information on?

      1. I do not need any more information on anything that was discussed in this week’s textbook chapter.

  5. What questions, concerns, and/or comments do you have?

    1. I do not have any questions, concerns, or comments.
